I was told never to overload a display, and the display levels should reflect the stock levels. When things reach minimal stock (five or so left) make sure they're all to hand in case someone asks for one.

As for facing up in the peak time (11am to 3pm Saturday) that's just stupid. Staff could be better used elsewhere (helping on tills, or packing purchases) and - like you said - they get in the way.

One thing that really annoyed me in my till jockey days was giving out leaflets, telling people about special offers etc. And of course at this time of year - Christmas music. There's only so many times you can hear Cliff Richard before you want to puch the next customer...</description>
