Being sick doesn’t solve everything!

Continuing in my anatomy series, I want to talk about being sick.

As far as I can tell being sick - as in physically sick - is the default physical response for a lot of issues your body and mind can’t work out between them.

Some examples:

  • Getting off a double decker bus but being halfway down/up the stairs as it either brakes or accelerates - response: feel sick
  • Having a play on a roundabout for 3 spins or so - response: feel sick
  • Going for a ride in a car and not looking out the windows - response: feel sick

Can we not evolve a bit more so that we can have some better default responses? We understand why we feel sick in these situations but seem powerless to do anything about it!!

To do that, I think we need to evolve a more gel-like innner ear fluid, as I think that’s what causes disorentation/dizziness/regurgitation responses.

But why can’t we just re-program our brains to deal with the sensation correctly!
