Marc’s KA is dead :(
But luckily he’s rescued Charmander meaning the the “Charmander Game” can still be played in any replacement car.
What’s the Charmander game I hear you ask? Well I’ll explain:
Marc has a plastic Charmander (it’s a pokeman) that shouts “MANDER” and lights up when it hears a sound.
But there’s a time gap between each time it does it - the light goes out :)
So we hide it from sight in the car and the object of the game is to make it say “MANDER” before the other person, but you lose points for shouting and it not shouting “MANDER” back.
It looks good in a traffic jam I can tell you :D

Anyone ever heard or used the phrase “it’s like clapham junction” to denote a busy space/time?
No. Me neither. But Marc seems to think everyone knows it and uses it on a daily basis.
So I made up my own phrase to use when he used “clapham junction”. Ladies and Gents I present to you:
“elephants underpants”
Try to use it in a sentance today :)

The BBC has entire section of it’s site dedicated to Odd news with a kind of video podcasty thingy to go with it.
It’s full of those really weird news stories about giant seals crushing cars and red panda’s escaping from zoo’s.
You should totally check it out: [bbc.co.uk/oddnews]

No no not this one silly!
I’ve been using [Google Reader] for ages to keep all my RSS feeds (151 in total) in one place and keep up to date with what’s going on. But recently I discovered the “share” button, which creates a kind of cream-of-the-crop blog of all the items you’ve shared!
Check it out!

So the greatest blog ever is created from pieces of everyone else blogs! Genius!

[Screencasting] is a nice useful technique where you can record your desktop to try and show something or teach something. The people at [Ruby on Rails] use this technique to good effect :)
I spent ages looking for some stuff to this with on OSX, but the only things recommended by people cost cash :(
So after watching lots of the [Zooomr MKIII launch on ustream] and seeing what Kris was doing with [CamTwist] (which is free!) I had a bit of of a brain wave.
So for a free screencast solution try the following:
- Download and install [CamTwist]
- Start [CamTwist] with no effects
- Start iMovie
- Flick the switch at the bottom of iMovie to Recording - click on the arrow to select the CamTwist camera
- Do some recording!
There you go. Just a few things to look out for:
- This will beat the life out of your CPU meaning fan noise might be an issue
- Export the movie from iMovie in CD quality or it won’t work for most video sites (like [vimeo])
brain wave, camtwist, cam twist, cd quality, fan noise, FYI, imovie, mac, mkiii, osx, ruby on rails, screencasting, video sites, vimeo, zooomr
Well thanks to [Sun for stumping up a Thumper x4500] (disks and 24TB of space) and Dell fixing the raid controller that broke [Zooomr MKIII] is back on track.
Kris has crashed right now after another 24 hour stint, but blogged photos are back (as you can see) and I’m sure it won’t be much longer before the worlds most awesome photo sharing site gets even more awesome!
In the meantime follow [Zooomr-TV at UStream] (or below)
And join the Zooomr-TV chat via an IRC client like [chatzilla]

- Room:#Zooomr-TV
